Janis joined NSD as Associate Director National Strategic Networks, replacing Kate Burley, in July 2022. Janis has worked with NHS National Services Scotland since 2014, and also brings previous experience from Skills Development Scotland and the Scottish Qualifications Authority, where she led on large-scale programmes of innovation. Janis’s focus in all her roles has been ensuring that a true understanding of customer and user needs drives services and engagement. She is passionate about customer experience, developing relationships and delivering public value. This focus and passion, together with a lot of hard work, was integral to the successful management of COVID-19 testing operations in Scotland, which she was asked to lead on in May 2020, and for which she was presented with an MBE early in 2023.
